Qualifications: License /Certification Required: BLS
Preferred: National certification as Certified Scrub Technologist
Education Required: Graduate of a Surgical Technology program
Preferred: High school graduate or equivalent

Fully understands and complies with ensuring proper security of medications and secured supplies during distribution and replenishment activities. Reports any concerns immediately to manager. May have access to the following for the purpose of replenishment, stock rotation and expiration checks: Unit specific, commercially prepared kits (medication and non-medication containing); Epidural trays; Syringes/needles; Plain IV/Irrigation Solutions. May be required to Stock Fluid Warmers in OB OR and on 2 East with IV Fluids and irrigation fluids and check temperatures according to policy. Responsible for maintaining PAR Levels and currency of dates on supplies that they stock.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area. Knowledgeable of growth and development for all patient/family cultural, linguistic, spiritual, gender, and age specific needs. Able to effectively communicate and care for patient and family as reflected in the Plan for Provision of Care.
