The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for overseeing, providing, and coordinating nursing care in compliance with facility policies, which includes administering medications and observing/charting changes in resident conditions. This role involves performing basic resident care treatments and collaborating with the healthcare team to evaluate needs and modify care plans.
Candidates must possess an Associate's degree in Nursing or equivalent, along with an active Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license. Required certifications include CPR within 90 days of hire and first aid training within 60 days of hire, while prior experience performing essential functions is desirable.
Description Position Purpose The purpose of this position is to oversee, provide, and coordinate nursing care in compliance with facility policies and procedures and to evaluate residents’ care needs and take appropriate action. The Licensed Practical Nurse will care for ill, injured, or convalescing residents in the facility. The LPN may work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Supervisory Responsibility: None-may direct the work of CNAs, PCAs, and/or RAs on shift
Budget Responsibility: None

Requirements: Minimum Requirements
Associates degree in Nursing, or equivalent is required.
Experience performing the essential functions of the position is desirable.
Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing is required. Candidates are required to attain and maintain CPR certification within 90 days after hire. State background check standards must be maintained as a condition of continued employment. Must complete first aid training required by rule 3701-16-06 of the Ohio Administrative Code, within 60 days of hire.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of medical principles (symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health care). Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations Knowledge of therapy methods and procedures Oral and written communication skills Critical thinking and complex problem solving skills Customer service skills Skills to observe resident condition Must display professionalism, initiative, positive attitude, and concern for others Must be stress tolerant, self-motivated, cooperative, team-oriented, and dependable. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
