The phlebotomist is responsible for collecting high-quality biological specimens through various invasive procedures like venipuncture and preparing/distributing these specimens appropriately for laboratory analysis. This role also requires providing superior customer service to patients and maintaining positive relations with medical departments and outreach customers.
Candidates must complete a formal phlebotomy program or possess equivalent education, or have a minimum of 3-4 years of phlebotomy experience. Essential requirements include possessing a valid Driver's License, passing fingerprinting checks, and demonstrating competency in infection control and handling patients across all age groups.
The phlebotomist is responsible for the collection of quality biological specimens for laboratory testing, distribution of specimens to proper departments, and proper preparation and handling of specimens for laboratory analysis.
