The Medical Assistant performs assigned tasks of direct and indirect patient care in the ambulatory setting, adhering to the patient care plan and organizational policies under the supervision of licensed staff. Essential duties include accurately documenting patient information, obtaining prior authorizations, generating medical renewals, and assisting licensed personnel with various approvals and clinical coverage needs.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D. and preferably have 1-3 years of medical office experience. Certification as a Medical Assistant by the NCCA is preferred upon hire, alongside excellent communication skills and the ability to function effectively both individually and within a team.

LPN – Full Time Neurosurgery Office - Albany, NY Work schedule: Monday – Friday Our Neurosurgery outpatient practice located in Albany, NY is seeking an LPN with excellent attention to detail and clinical reasoning skills to join our dedicated team of healthcare providers! The Department of Neurosurgery comprises world-class neurosurgeons providing increasingly diverse and complex surgical care to patients with a wide range of neurological conditions, ensuring that Albany Medical Center offers the most advanced neurosurgical services available in the region. Our department offices are located at the main campus in Albany as well as in Saratoga, but our providers service a wide area including Latham, Clifton Park, Delmar, Saratoga, Valatie, and Catskill. Our administrative and clinical teams work collaboratively to meet the needs of our patients and their families. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: Obtains and accurately records patient’s vital signs Documents components of patient’s history Communicates in an open and appropriate manner with patients, visitors and staff Participates in in-office procedures under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare provider Performs diagnostic CLIA waived testing Performs venipuncture to obtain blood for lab testing Prescription call-backs per scope of practice Preps patient’s chart for pertinent clinical information Maintains inventory of supplies, and keeps patient examination rooms stocked Adheres to AMC’s regulatory compliance issues
High School diploma or equivalent is required Current NYS Registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse Obtains and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) Previous experience in a patient care setting preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, patients and their family members or other employees within the work setting Thank you for your interest in Albany Med Health System!
