We’re Looking For

Licensure or Certifications • MA

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices

MA: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.

LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing

As a Medical Assistant , you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will

Welcome patients and support their transition into care.

Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.

Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.

Administer medications and vaccines as directed.

Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.

Document care accurately in the electronic health record.

Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

About This Location

The Nephrology clinic at 6901 W Edgerton Ave (Aurora Health Center – Greenfield) is a specialty clinic focused on the diagnosis and management of kidney-related conditions:

Specialty focus: Provides expert care for diseases of the kidneys, including evaluation, treatment, and ongoing management of renal conditions.

Chronic disease management: Cares for patients with conditions such as chronic kidney disease (CKD), hypertension-related kidney issues, and other complications affecting kidney function.(general nephrology scope aligned with specialty care)

Advanced care coordination: Connected to dialysis services, transplant programs, and hospital-based care when more advanced treatment is needed.

Integrated setting: Located within a multi-specialty health center, enabling collaboration with primary care and specialties like cardiology and endocrinology.

Specialist-led care: Typically staffed by nephrologists who provide individualized treatment plans and ongoing monitoring for complex conditions.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.

Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.

Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.

Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.

Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.

Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.

May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.

Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.

Physical Abilities Testing may be required.

Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.
