Community Health Center of Central Wyoming (CHCCW) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support our growing clinical team in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to individuals and families who need it the most.

As part of our integrated health care model, you’ll work in a supportive, collaborative environment where your skills and compassion truly matter.

The CMA provides clinical support services to the providers. Duties include

  • Preparation of patients for the exam room
  • Observing, interviewing and notating patient symptoms
  • Basic laboratory testing, ECG, and updraft treatments
  • Measurement of vital signs
  • Assisting with procedures
  • Administering medications and immunizations
  • Maintaining quality, safety and/or infection control standards
  • Safely operating various medical equipment
  • Sterilizing supplies and equipment
  • Maintaining and restocking examination and procedure rooms

This position also requires Electronic Medical Record (EMR) proficiency and a basic knowledge of front office procedures such as scheduling appointments. The CMA will be expected to work in other areas of the clinic when deemed appropriate, such as the Call Center or floating to other areas when needed.

The CMA should have knowledge of

  • Medical terms
  • Medical clinical protocols and procedures
  • Patient evaluation
  • Triage methods, concepts, practices, communications and techniques
  • Drawing labs (as phlebotomy isn’t always available)
  • Procedures and standards for administration of medications, immunizations and patient care
  • Patient charts and patient medical histories
  • Applicable medical equipment operation such as catheters, oxygen, and autoclaves
  • Applicable OSHA health, environment and safety, Federal and State laws, rules and regulations

What We’re Looking For

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED)
  • Completion of Medical Assistant Program Certification with the National Association of Health Professionals upon hire, or within the first (90) days of employment
  • BLS Certification (current, or obtain upon hire)
  • Strong communication and teamworking skills
  • Bilingual ability is a plus
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Requirements

Candidates must have graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant Program and hold current BLS certification. A proven work history with hands-on nursing responsibilities and competency in nursing protocols is also required.
