The Surgical Tech operates under the surgeon's supervision to facilitate safe and effective invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures, ensuring the operating room environment is safe and equipment functions correctly to maximize patient safety. This role involves recognizing significant patient conditions and reactions and notifying the appropriate patient care team as needed.
Required qualifications vary by level, generally requiring a High School Diploma or GED and completion of a Surgical Tech program or significant prior experience, along with American Heart Association CPR (BLS) certification. Surgical Technologist II requires further certification or extensive experience (3-5 years minimum).

EXPECTED PAY: Surgical Technologist I: $27.25-38.48/hour Surgical Technologist II: $27.25-38.48/hour (with a 3% range adjustment) This is an hourly position. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.
Weekend - $2.50/hour On Call - $3.00/hour while on call (time-and-a-half of base rate if called in)
The Surgical Tech works under the supervision and delegatory authority of a surgeon to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. The surgical tech recognizes significant conditions and reactions of the patient and notifies the appropriate patient care team as necessary.
