Expected pay for this position is $20.41 - $24.01/hour.

Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

This is an Hourly position.

Overview

Position Summary

​The Emergency Department Technician II functions as a member of the emergency department patient care team, under supervision of the registered nurse. The Emergency Department Technician II, performs patient care procedures and assists with the collection of basic health information. The Emergency Department Technician II provides for the care, comfort, and safety of patients, including, but not limited to, taking vital signs, initiation and discontinuation of peripheral intravenous access, specimen collection, performing ECG's, post-mold application, crutch-walk teaching, spinal immobilization, basic wound care, collecting patient history and assessment information. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts and communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

Required qualifications

Education:

  • High
  • School/GED
  • Licenses/Certifications: American Heart Associate BLS for healthcare provider CPR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR; EMT-P, License in the State of Illinois

Preferred Qualifications

6 or more months experience in a clinical healthcare environment Able to communicate effectively in person; by telephone; and computer messaging 6 or more months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED and relevant certifications such as BLS for healthcare providers. Preferred qualifications include at least six months of experience in a clinical healthcare environment.
