About the role

The Life Enrichment Assistant supports the Director by planning, implementing, and evaluating programming aimed at optimizing residents' physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and cognitive well-being. Key duties include leading social events, conducting exercise classes, coordinating programs across departments, and assisting with resident outings.

Job Overview

Northern Lakes Senior Living has a positive and family-like culture in a beautiful setting, located at 8186 Excelsior Road in Baxter, MN (Brainerd). Our care community hosts Assisted and Memory Care services for a total of 68 units. Managed by Ebenezer we are proud of our skilled, compassionate and good natured team of employees. The Life Enrichment /Activities Assistant assists the Life Enrichment Director with planning, implementing, and evaluating the life enrichment programming which provides for the optimization of resident physical, psychosocial, spiritual and cognitive well-being. Life Enrichment Assistants help bring to life Ebenezer's cornerstones: Life Long Learning, Dimensions Program for Dementia Care, Crafted Culinary, Spiritual Care, Wellness and Intergenerational Programming This activities assistant schedule includes; casual / on call (help fill in for shifts ahead of time and for last minute needs) Day and early evening shift options must work minimum of 3 shifts per month

Responsibilities

Assists with life enrichment programs and activities: Leads social events and activity programs. Conducts exercise class for residents. Communicates and coordinates life enrichment programs with all departments. Assists other departments with special events and family functions. Documents as required. Offers suggestions and ideas to the Life Enrichment Director to improve the programming. Assists in meeting the psychosocial needs of residents. Assists with the planning and execution of individual, small or large group outings outside the building, including assisting residents with boarding and deboarding from vehicles safely. Assists in meeting the psychosocial needs of residents: Encourages resident participation. Reports change in resident attitude, mood, or physical status to appropriate staff. Promotes resident independence by offering choices and fostering self-help skills. Assists residents in developing relationships and effectively socializing
