The technologist assists physicians in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures by preparing the sterile field, operating imaging equipment, and monitoring patient vitals during catheterizations and implantations. Key duties include scrubbing in, operating sophisticated X-ray/fluoroscopy equipment, and performing post-procedure site care like sheath removal.
Candidates must possess an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, along with current RCIS or RT-R certification, and mandatory ACLS/BLS certifications. Proven experience in a high-volume cath lab environment and the ability to remain decisive in emergencies are essential.
Work Environment This role is based in a hospital setting and requires standing for long periods while wearing heavy lead aprons. The position involves exposure to ionizing radiation and requires the physical ability to assist in moving or positioning patients.
