The technician prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic studies under the direction of the Diagnostic Imaging Director. This involves performing diagnostic studies using imaging equipment to create organ images and administering prescribed doses of materials.
The basic requirement is a High School Diploma/GED and holding a Nuclear Medical Technologist Certificate in California, along with Basic Life Support certification. Candidates must also possess the ability to comprehend instructions, write correspondence, and present information effectively in small groups.
Under the direction of the Diagnostic Imaging Director, prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies. Utilizing efficient and safe processes, performs related technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care.
May be registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
