These roles perform diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures, primarily utilizing ultrasound technology to create high-quality images of internal body structures for diagnosis and monitoring. Individuals contribute within a clinical discipline, often involving direct patient care, diagnosis, and treatment, and may also design and implement clinical programs.
Candidates must meet education requirements for diagnostic medical ultrasound or echocardiography ultrasound certification, preferably holding an Associate’s degree, and must possess a minimum of two years of clinical experience. Required certifications include Registered Vascular Technologist (within 12 months), ARDMS or ARRT (S), and American Heart Association BLS.
