Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures in ambulatory setting requiring independent judgment, under the direction of a qualified physician.
Proficient in preliminary structural reporting.
Conducts general diagnostic ultrasound imaging studies of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include: scanning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology, operation of sonography equipment, operation of the electronic radiology systems, preparation of patient room/equipment/medications, and maintains adequate supply inventory.
Explains examination and procedure to patient and completes departmental documentation.
Competent in use and logging of infection control equipment.
