Licensed Practical Nurses are responsible for providing patient-driven care and support to veteran residents by assessing health status, administering treatments and medications according to care plans, and responding to urgent situations. Incumbents must also collaborate with staff, communicate clearly with families, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Applicants must possess a current, active license as a practical nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing and hold current CPR certification through the American Heart Association. A minimum of one year of paraprofessional experience as a licensed practical nurse is required, with preferred experience in geriatric care.
At least one (1) year of experience in the care of geriatric patients in a healthcare setting such as long-term care. Certification in dementia, hospice, or other relevant discipline. Ability to establish effective relationships with individuals, families, and team members. Demonstrated attention to detail with readiness to respond appropriately when needed. Capacity to maintain accurate records and exercise discretion in handling confidential information. Skilled in the use of using a computer for completion of work assignments. EMERGENCY: This position has been deemed as an emergency personnel position. During a declared State of Emergency and in Non-Emergency situations/adverse weather, it will be necessary to report to work.
