The technician utilizes laboratory skills to perform and report results of defined laboratory procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities include receiving, organizing, and prioritizing specimens, performing tests, and conducting quality control and instrument maintenance.
A minimum requirement is an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or completion of a 50-week official US military medical laboratory training course with the relevant specialty. National certification is required, which must be obtained within six months of the hire date, along with basic computer literacy.
Utilizes laboratory skills to perform and report results of clearly defined laboratory procedures assuring optimal patient outcomes. Responsible for assigned shifts and subject to overtime and call back as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
