The optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye exams, establish long-term patient relationships through proper care and education, and advise patients on options for vision correction and disease management. Key duties include performing vision tests, diagnosing sight problems, prescribing corrective lenses and medications, and providing pre- and postoperative care for eye surgeries.
Candidates must possess a Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution and must have successfully passed all state optometric board examinations. The role requires the ability to practice to the full scope of the license, generate patient loyalty, and effectively communicate recommendations to support staff.
