Summary: Professionally trained individual who produces high quality radiographs and basic CT’s for interpretation and diagnosis. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Job Description

Operates all equipment in an effective, safe and efficient manner. Employs proper radiographic positioning in accordance with current department procedures. Performs routine maintenance in cleaning all equipment. Complies with house-wide BSI precautions. Follow the safety steps required to perform their duties and be in compliance with medical, state and federal safety standards. They must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriately. Must be proficient in all aspects of ordered CT procedure. This service provides diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologist. Effectively utilizes all necessary computer systems in compliance with HIPPA guidelines. Obtains and records all patient data as required by the medical center, state, JCAHO or other agencies. Ensure proper charging of all procedures, coding, and modifiers are correct. Reviews images for high quality. Assist in performing QC, QA, QI or ACR as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned. Education, Credentials, Licenses: Education and National Credentials: Current CPR certification Graduate of an approved accredited program of Radiologic Technology. ARRT(R) registered Complete ARRT (CT) within 27 months of job assignment. Complete CT competency checklist within first 90 days of job assignment. Complete ARRT (CT) certification within 2 years of competency checklist completion. State Licensure: Kentucky KBMIRT Radiation Operator's License - Radiography (Temporary or Permanent) Associate has 12 months from the issuance of a Temporary KBMIRT Radiation Operator’s License – Radiography to obtain ARRT(R). Indiana Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) License – (Radiologic Technologist or Radiology Student Permit) Associate has 6 months from the issuance of a Radiology Student Permit to obtain ARRT(R). Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and hold current CPR certification, along with Kentucky KBMIRT licensure, with requirements to obtain ARRT(CT) certification within specified timelines. Proficiency in all ordered CT procedures and effective utilization of computer systems compliant with HIPAA are mandatory.
