Nurses provide support by floating between Inpatient Complex Medical units, the Rehabilitation unit, and the Medical Group Home, delivering a full range of nursing care based on the nursing process, physician's orders, and the care plan. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate records, communicating professionally with all stakeholders, and providing necessary training to patients, families, and staff.
Our Float Pool nursing position offers the unique opportunity to make an impact across multiple areas of care at ChildServe. Nurses in this role provide support where it’s needed most floating between our Inpatient Complex Medical units, Rehabilitation unit, and Medical Group Home. This position is ideal for a flexible, skilled nurse who enjoys variety, collaboration, and caring for children , adolescents and young adults with complex medical needs.

How You’ll Make an Impact
Within the nursing scope of practice, physician’s orders, and the care plan, make decisions and deliver a full range of nursing care based on the fundamentals of the nursing process.
Maintain accurate, completed, and timely records as defined by nursing standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with residents, physicians, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others to assure assigned child’s care needs are assessed, communicated, and met.
Provide training to patients, families, and staff as needed to help advance the skills and knowledge of all people associated with a child’s care delivery.
Demonstrate good stewardship of ChildServe equipment, supplies, and environment.
What You’ll Need
Current valid license as a Registered RN or LPN in Iowa.
Active BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the clinic areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing and speaking the English language.
