Summary: Assists Radiology Technologist staff in providing non-technical support to the various departments of Radiology. Expedites care through direct patient contact including patient transportation, patient preparation, specimen transportation, preparation of imaging rooms and other related assistance.

Duties: Greets patients upon arrival, aids in filling out necessary paperwork and transports patients to appropriate imaging areas. Answers telephone calls for area and routes call appropriately. Performs clerical functions as required and requested. Assists in patient preparation and completion of examinations. Observes a patient when required. Assists in patient positioning and lifting and transporting when needed. Assists in ensuring all necessary supplies are available and stocked. Assists technical staff with any/all duties necessary for completion of imaging studies. Applies principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care. Effectively uses Radiology Information System. Maintains confidentiality and an ethical relationship with all patients and medical records. Must be enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s degree medical imaging program with intention of hospital-based radiologic school enrollment when eligible. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
