A Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs diagnostic and special procedure ultrasonography following established policies and procedures, typically reporting to a radiology or ultrasound coordinator. General sonographers are required to obtain Registered Vascular Sonographer certification within one year of hire.
Candidates must possess a High School diploma or equivalent and have completed an accredited diagnostic medical sonographic program, providing current ARDMS certification and CEU documentation. A minimum of two years of general ultrasound experience is required, with preferred qualifications including one year of breast experience and BLS/ACLS certification.
Location: 51 Performance Drive, Weymouth, MA, 02189 Department: Radiology - Ultrasound Schedule: 36-hour full-time schedule (Monday, Thursday, and Friday, with flexible hours) Primary Responsibilities: A Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) performs diagnostic and special procedure ultrasonography in accordance with established policies and procedures Typically reports to a radiology or ultrasound coordinator Incumbents hired as general sonographers in regular status are required to receive certification as a Registered Vascular Sonographer within one year from the date of hire. If incumbents fail the test twice within this first year, they will be terminated but able to apply for open available positions within the organization. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty 1+ years of breast experience Able to independently perform tests Good interpersonal, organizational and decision-making skills Ability to take initiative and work independently Ability to effectively interact with a patient who may be under physical or emotional distress Discuss with appropriate staff to ensure patient is informed of any inconvenience Clearly and effectively relays pertinent information to the interpreting physician Ability to adjust to changing pace of department and frequent interruptions Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
