The primary function is to provide unpaid assistance and support to the Hospice patient, family, and the Hospice team, which includes direct companionship, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe patient environment. Volunteers also promote the Hospice's mission, maintain communication skills, and may provide clerical support or participate in special projects.
Candidates should demonstrate an interest in the welfare of the ill and elderly and must be able to read, write, and follow instructions effectively in English. A High School Diploma is preferred, and a current driver's license with valid auto liability insurance is required if providing direct patient care, along with passing a criminal history check.
