Provide direct and indirect pediatric care, including patient intake, administering vaccinations, and performing clinical procedures. Support multi-specialty clinics through documentation in electronic health records and assisting with administrative functions.
Requires graduation from an accredited Practical Nurse program and a current North Carolina LPN license or Nurse Licensure Compact. Candidates typically need 12 months of clinical experience and a BLS certification.
Perform patient intake including: obtaining vital signs (including manual blood pressures), administering survey tools, data collection, assisting patients with preparing questions for provider visit, assisting patients with ambulation/toileting, reviewing patient medications, provide teaching for specialty injections and assess knowledge of patient/family. Completing procedural tasks including: administering vaccinations and medications according to standing orders and provider orders, specimen collection and correct labeling, performing EKGs and placing holter monitors, POC testing, assisting with clinic-performed procedures (including ABP monitoring), obtaining manual and orthostatic BP, providing education to patient/family, bill for nursing procedures. Assist with obtaining prior authorizations, prescription refills. Documentation in electronic health record. Assist with administrative functions as needed, including message taking. Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care, including equipment and material resources. Participate in and assist with the identification of clinical or operational performance improvement opportunities, including performing unit audits. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Job Eligibility Requirements: Work requires graduation from an approved or accredited Practical Nurse program. Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required. At a manager's discretion, employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional performers may be eligible for this level. Current State of North Carolina LPN licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). BLS required. Job Schedule: The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
