Certified Medical Assistant – General and Thoracic Surgery Job Summary: The Certified Medical Assistant is a key component of our team that works closely with the primary care physician to deliver excellent patient care to our community, ensuring services are provided within the Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines.
The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for reviewing and updating health records, measuring vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms for upcoming examinations.
Essential Functions: Provides excellent customer service skills by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner Prepares & reviews patient charts for upcoming visits by verifying that all diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other medical records are correct and up to date Measures vital signs such as pulse rate, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height Performs departmental-related clerical duties such as checking inventory, stock supplies, track referrals, and answer phones as needed Must possess the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly Other duties as assigned Education: High School Degree or GED
