The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs routine and complex laboratory tests, ensuring accuracy and precision, and is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and reporting patient results along with required documentation. Essential functions also include performing quality control, documenting instrument maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and communicating pertinent information to relevant staff and management.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or a Basic Science, with no prior experience required, although specialty certification and generalist experience are preferred. Certification by ASCP, AMT, ABHI, or equivalent is mandatory within 12 months of hire, and the individual must qualify as Testing Personnel for high complexity testing under CLIA.
JOB SUMMARY Medical Laboratory Scientist, Laboratory Services provides technical skills necessary to perform and report moderate or highly complex laboratory tests within a division of the clinical laboratory. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in a Clinical Laboratory Science or Basic Science. No experience required.
