The Physical Therapy Assistant executes a medically prescribed physical therapy plan of care under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist. This involves providing preventative instruction and rehabilitation for acute or prolonged dysfunction or pain, focusing on movement and therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents.
Candidates must be a graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant Program accredited by CAPTE and possess current Oklahoma Physical Therapist Assistant licensure, including Form 5 Supervisor Confirmation. A mandatory requirement is current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
Hospital or outpatient experience. Experience in either acute care, hospital or outpatient orthopedics.
