Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners complete psychiatric evaluations, prescribe medications, and develop individualized treatment plans for clients. They collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and participate in crisis interventions as needed.
Candidates must have a Master's or Doctorate degree in nursing with a psychiatric mental health specialization and two years of experience as a psychiatric prescriber. A Registered Nurse license and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner license in Washington are also required.
