The Cardiac Cath Lab Radiology Tech operates radiographic equipment and assists in invasive procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab. They are responsible for patient positioning, image processing, and ensuring radiation safety during procedures.
Description This opportunity is for Mon-Fri.- full time days and some call. New Grads Welcome Performs a variety of technical tasks involved in operating radiographic/x-ray equipment and making radiographs of designated parts of the body. Assists in all invasive procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab and/or Special Procedures/Electrophysiology lab. The staff in this position will work as part of a team with physician, registered nurses, and cardiovascular technicians.
Essential duties and responsibilities 1.
Demonstrates responsibility for x-ray equipment in all diagnostic and interventional procedures.
2.
Adjusts equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.
3.
Positions patients for certain anatomical view using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
4.
Accurately processes images, matched with appropriate labels and information for interpretation.
5.
Daily responsibility for checking that all procedures were properly transmitted and archived.
6.
Functions as a scrub person and a procedure table for all diagnostic and interventional procedures 7.
Functions as a monitor person in all diagnostic and interventional procedures.
8.
Rotates calls for all emergency and add-on procedures.
9.
Demonstrates understanding of radiation safety and sterile techniques.
10.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
