Experience in a crisis management setting or service during which the individual provided crisis response | 1 Year | Required Experience working with children or adults in a behavioral health capacity | 1 Year | Required

Job Description: Summary:

The primary responsibilities of the Registered Nurse position are to oversee paraprofessionals who provide services, as well as, provide direct nursing care to the people we support from the Behavioral Health Division of Monarch. The nurse will be responsible for carrying out treatment and supportive care as directed by the Prescriber or Vice President of Operations according to service definition and best practices.

What You'll Do

Assess and document individuals' appropriateness for services, level of functioning, health status, mental status, medical history, medications, and medication compliance.

Educate individuals receiving services about mental illness and substance use disorder, participate in the development of discharge and referral plans.

Ensure that people who need a higher level or different level of care are referred or placed.

Monitor individuals who are receiving services to ensure health and safety.

Carry out functions including crisis intervention, medication administration, assessment of vital signs, referral for emergency medical treatment as necessary, observation of individual response to medication and nursing assessment.

Attend and actively participate in meetings and training as required. Maintain certification in all agency, state and federal training requirements.

Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures, as well as, state and federal statutes and regulations related to specific program areas

Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and assist in crisis situations.

Ensure that physician orders and service definition guidelines for services being provided are followed.

Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Driving and travel may be required.
