The technologist performs routine and specialized diagnostic radiology procedures, including preparing and positioning patients, determining exposure factors, and operating mobile radiologic equipment in various clinical settings. They also assist physicians in fluoroscopic examinations, process images, perform minor equipment maintenance, and practice radiation safety techniques.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and hold several specific California certifications, including Certified Radiologic Technologist, Venipuncture Certificate, and Fluoroscopy Certificate. Additional requirements include the ability to read instructions, communicate effectively, and be willing to work within a Labor Management Partnership environment.
Under the direction of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, performs radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. Operates the radiographic equipment to produce radiographic recorded images of the body. Performs technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes.
