The technologist will perform all ordered radiographic and mammography examinations, ensuring proper patient positioning and instruction, while also documenting shielding for younger patients. Responsibilities include assisting the radiologist with procedures, safely executing mobile and surgical radiology, and protecting personnel from undue radiation exposure.
Candidates must be a registered mammography technologist with experience in digital mammography, ideally possessing one to three years of diagnostic mammography experience plus on-the-job training. Required qualifications include excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles, procedures, and equipment operation, typically gained from a two-year post-high school training program.
