The NP/PA will collaborate with attending physicians to perform triage, physical exams, collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and order necessary studies and consultations. Responsibilities also include prescribing interventions, coordinating patient care, providing direct patient services, and analyzing clinical practice patterns for effectiveness.
Candidates must meet specific educational and licensure requirements based on whether they are a PA (Bachelor's degree, NC Medical Board license, NCCPA Board Certification) or an NP (Master's degree, NC RN licensure, national Board Certification). Both roles require current DEA licensure, and 1+ years of experience in oncology, neurology, or neurosurgery clinical practice is preferred.

In collaboration with attending physician(s), the NP/PA performs triage, physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies, diagnostic procedures and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, coordinates the care of patients, and provides direct patient care services. Analyze clinical practice patterns so as to provide the best medical care and to increase effectiveness and efficiency. Communicate verbally and in writing all pertinent patient information to supervising MD, nursing staff, patient resource manager, home health agency, and other relevant healthcare providers. Provide timely documentation in the electronic medical record of all relevant data including results of diagnostic tests; laboratory results; patients’ condition and response to therapies/interventions; communications with physician colleagues.
Must demonstrate and maintain credentialing and licensing requirements of the Private Diagnostic Clinic and Duke Health. The position requires the candidate to have current DEA licensure. 1+ years of APP experience in oncology, neurology, or neurosurgery clinical experience preferred.
