Duties also involve verifying orders in the electronic medical record, checking prescriber orders for accuracy, supervising assistants, and preparing sterile admixtures.

At Stony Brook Medicine, a TH Pharmacist is a valuable member of our team, who provides clinical services to our patient population; responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and clarifying orders as well as preparing and dispensing medication orders. Practices in a manner that will ensure mediation safety. Qualified candidates will demonstrate superior communication and organizational skills while adhering to our high standard of excellence. Duties of a TH Pharmacist may include but are not limited to the following: Accurately verify medication orders and when necessary, enter them onto electronic medical record. Review prescriber orders for proper dosage, allergies, drug interactions and legibility where applicable. Supervise Pharmacy Assistants. Provide a double check for all technician-prepared medication doses and for pharmacist-prepared doses when required. Prepare IV admixtures and other sterile admixtures, including cytotoxic and other hazardous agents. Provide drug information to patients and to other professionals as requested.
Qualifications

Range: The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $127,345 - $155,233 / year. The above salary range represents SBUH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate’s validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.
Some positions offer annual supplemental pay such as: Location pay for UUP full-time positions ($4,000) Night shift differential ($15,000) Inconvenience pay/supplemental shift differential.
