The Medical Lab Technician performs routine and specialized diagnostic tests on various specimens to support timely patient diagnosis, while operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment according to strict quality control standards. This role also involves collecting blood specimens via venipuncture and capillary techniques, documenting results accurately in the LIS, and collaborating with healthcare professionals.
Candidates must possess an Associate Degree in a relevant science field or completion of an official military Medical Laboratory Procedures course with the corresponding specialty. Required certifications include MLT (ASCP, AAB, or AMT) and Basic Life Support (BCLS), with 0-2 years of acute clinical laboratory experience preferred.
