The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and clinical support to providers in an outpatient setting, performing clinical duties like preparing patients, collecting vital signs, documenting in the EMR, and assisting during procedures. They also handle administrative tasks such as patient scheduling, filing reports, and managing follow-ups for documentation and billing inquiries.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program, and must hold current certification as a CMA or RMA from an approved governing association. While one year of related work experience is preferred, the role requires obtaining Basic Life Support Certification within six months of hire.
