The Clinic Office Assistant manages patient scheduling, handles check-in and check-out procedures, and accurately applies ICD-10 and CPT codes for billing purposes. This role also involves registering patients, preparing charts, processing payments, and maintaining current patient demographic and billing information.
Candidates must have a High School diploma and one year of technical college education, or three years of experience in a physician's office with medical billing experience may substitute for formal training. Required competencies include experience with practice management systems, EMRs, office automation skills, and insurance reimbursement knowledge.
