The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is responsible for safely and accurately administering medications to residents in a nursing home setting under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. Essential functions include medication administration, accurate documentation, resident care engagement, and strict adherence to compliance and safety regulations.
Candidates must complete a High School diploma or equivalent and a Certification of Medication Aide program, along with meeting any additional state-specific requirements. Required abilities include effective communication with staff and individuals, and potentially providing proof of a valid driver's license and auto liability insurance if driving is involved.
