The Counselor is responsible for providing counseling services, including group programming and individual counseling, while serving as a role model in a therapeutic environment. They will work closely with Virginia Department of Corrections personnel to promote recovery for individuals with substance use disorders.
A Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field is required, along with state certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor within two years of employment. Candidates with relevant certifications may qualify for a higher salary.
