The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is responsible for safely and accurately administering prescribed medications to residents in a nursing home under licensed nursing staff supervision. This includes verifying orders, monitoring for adverse reactions, and accurately documenting all administration activities.
Candidates must complete a High School diploma or equivalent and a Certified Medication Aide program, along with meeting any additional state-specific requirements. Required abilities include effective communication and providing proof of a valid driver's license and auto liability insurance if driving is required for assignments.
