The Dental Assistant prepares and sterilizes dental instruments, maintains the dental operatory, and operates radiographic equipment. They also perform administrative tasks as needed under the supervision of a Dentist or Dental Hygienist.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and either complete a technical school program in dental assisting or have 12 months of experience. They are also required to obtain specific certifications within the first six months of employment.
