As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will deliver therapeutic, diagnostic, and life-support respiratory care procedures. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimum outcomes for patients of all ages.
An associate degree and certification from a CoARC approved school of respiratory therapy is required. Candidates must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine and registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required. Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position. Be able to acquire BLS within 3 months of employment in this position or as determined by department. Some areas may require ACLS, NRP, PALS certification within one year of employment.
