The MDS Nurse Traveler will coordinate and support the RAI process in accordance with federal, state, and certification guidelines while traveling to various facilities. Responsibilities include patient assessments, compliance monitoring, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a valid RN or LPN license and have at least 2 years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility as an MDS nurse. Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement processes is preferred.
Maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Demonstrates experience in geriatric nursing and long term care. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility as MDS nurse preferred. Excellent knowledge of the Federal Medicare PPS process and State Medicaid reimbursement, as required. Demonstrates understanding of the Quality Measure processes. Experience with nursing documentation, Minimum Data Set (MDS) coding, and Case Management experience preferred. Demonstrates an attitude for providing a high degree of patient satisfaction and services. Demonstrates experience working in a positive collaborative relationship with members of the community, residents, families, and co-workers
