Essential responsibilities include examining and treating companion animals to diagnose diseases or injuries, operating diagnostic equipment, and advising pet owners on care and treatment options. Veterinarians will also perform surgery, prescribe medication, provide end-of-life counseling, and maintain medical records.
Candidates must possess a DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited institution and hold appropriate state licensure, along with eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD credentials. Excellent communication skills and a professional presentation are required, as well as the physical ability to lift patients and equipment.
