The Intermediate ICU RN provides clinical care and uses coordination skills for every patient served. This includes an understanding of the expected patients served in the unit'(s). Nursing care is delivered using the Eskenazi Health Model of Care-Synergy, the ability to coordinate with the patient and family/loved ones and other healthcare disciplines to ensure care is appropriate to meet patient care needs. Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health's mission: Advocate, Care, Teach, and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County; models Eskenazi Health values.
In addition to new employee and clinical core orientation, we ensure team members are provided a departmental orientation that is flexible based on YOUR needs. Better support for nurses means better care for patients. That is why Eskenazi Health is not only here for the community and our patients, we’re here for our nurses too.
Eskenazi Health is a Level 1 trauma center. Due to our high acuity, team members in this role can anticipate caring for and monitoring high acuity patients whose acuity is a blend between progressive care and ICU in a 1:3 nurse to patient ratio. You will also encounter patients with a wide variety of backgrounds, disease processes, and interventions due to being a bridge between our Acuity Adaptable unit and our MICU/SICU.
We currently have openings for full-time. We have a six-week self-schedule model that allows you to give your preference and it is modified as needed per unit needs. Weekends are adjusted per schedule needs, but roughly every third weekend.
