The Clinical Support Float RN is responsible for coordinating and providing individualized patient care across various units like Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU, demonstrating respect, dignity, and empathy in all encounters. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, administering treatments, and collaborating with the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Candidates must be a graduate of a professional nursing school with a Bachelor of Nursing required, and preferably have 1 year of clinical nursing experience. A current Virginia RN license or eligibility to sit for the exam is mandatory, along with AHA BLS-HCP certification and demonstrated critical thinking and advanced clinical skills.
Must successfully complete orientation and competency requirements. Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records. Must be able to meet essential job functions. Critical Thinking: Ability to make fast, accurate decisions in high-stress environments. Regularly multi tasks in stressful environments provide advanced care to highly complex patients. Advanced Clinical Skills: Proficiency in advanced trauma life support (ATLS), ACLS, and trauma-specific protocols. Communication Skills: Excellent communication to coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams and to educate patients and families Physical and Emotional Resilience: Capacity to handle emotionally challenging situations and physically demanding work in a fast-paced setting.
