The CRNA functions as an integral member of the patient care team, providing patient care and supportive services directed toward achieving quality patient care outcomes. The role involves managing complex anesthesia situations and adhering to established Medical Center, anesthesia, and nursing standards of practice.
Candidates must be graduates of accredited schools of nursing and nurse anesthesia, holding current Ohio RN licensure and a CRNA Certificate of Authority. Required certifications include current NBCRNA certification and ACLS certification, along with eligibility for clinical privileges.
The CRNA is a registered, professional advanced practice nurse who demonstrates excellence in all areas of anesthesia practice including but not limited to anesthesia case management, staff education and clinical research. The CRNA manages complex, unpredictable anesthesia situations. The CRNA must be competent in technical, cognitive and interpersonal skills required to serve those patients receiving anesthesia care and services. The CRNA is expected to practice within the established Medical Center, anesthesia, and nursing standards of practice (policies, procedures, protocols), and adhere to the Intensive Caring Value Statements. The CRNA works as a member of the patient care team and collaborates with an MDA in the anesthetic care of each and every patient.
For Hire: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and a graduate of an accredited school of nurse anesthesia. Current Ohio RN licensure and also current Ohio Certificate of Authority as a CRNA. Current certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). Current ACLS certification. Must be eligible to obtain clinical privileges as designated by the OSUMC Corporate Credentialing Office. On going: Must maintain the following (1)Ohio Certificate of Authority, (2)NBCRNA certification, (3)ACLS certification, (4)Clinical credentials with OSUMC Corporate Credentialing.
