The Emergency Veterinary Assistant will serve as the first point of contact, triaging incoming patients, providing support, and assisting with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics alongside credentialed staff. Responsibilities include setting up and monitoring anesthesia cases, managing IV fluids and medications, and participating in patient rounds to ensure continuity of care.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with enrollment in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program being a plus, and ideally 1+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant role, preferably in emergency or specialty settings. Essential requirements include basic computer skills, excellent communication abilities, fine motor skills, physical stamina for prolonged standing and lifting, and availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
