The Licensed Practical Nurse provides patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, focusing on facilitating health and healing while preserving patient autonomy, dignity, and rights. Responsibilities include collecting patient data, assisting in care planning and evaluation, administering prescribed medication, and reinforcing patient teaching.
The minimum requirements include the ability to collect patient data, assist in planning and evaluating care, administer medication as directed, and participate in educational activities. Licensure requires obtaining BLS Certification within 14 days of hire.
Provides patient care as directed by the professional registered nurse and is accountable for own actions under this direction. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing and delivers care in a manner that preserves and protects patient autonomy, dignity and rights. Performs other duties as assigned.
