Chesapeake urology: Germantown, md
Occupation: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Specialty: Urology
Clinic Location: Germantown, MD
Employment: Full-Time | Mon-Fri
Setting: Private Practice, Outpatient/Inpatient
Board Certifications: NP-C/PA-C
Chesapeake Urology is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join its urology team with a clinical focus on both men’s sexual health and general urology. In this role, you will work closely with physicians to provide patient‑centered care through evaluations, follow‑up visits, and treatment planning across outpatient and inpatient settings. The practice offers a collaborative environment where APPs are supported, encouraged to grow clinically, and play an integral role in delivering high‑quality urologic care. This opportunity is well suited for an APP who values teamwork, patient relationships, and developing expertise within a well‑established urology group.
This is a rare opportunity to train directly with Dr. Devang Sharma, a fellowship-trained Andrology and Men's Health subspecialist, within the largest urology practice in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Unlike many APP positions, this role offers a structured mentorship pathway designed to develop the APP into a specialist in Men's Sexual Health and General Urology. Dr. Sharma is committed to investing significant time in teaching and professional development, making this an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about urology and interested in building a long-term career within the specialty.
Working in a true physician-extender model, the APP will train alongside Dr. Sharma while gaining experience in advanced Men's Health therapies and procedures. Over time, the APP will develop increasing autonomy and become an integral part of a growing subspecialty practice. Exposure to women's sexual health may also be available based on interest and practice needs
This is a hybrid outpatient and inpatient role.
Most days will be spent alongside Dr. Sharma in the Germantown office evaluating patients, managing follow-up care, and supporting a high-volume Men's Health practice. The APP will also periodically provide inpatient coverage and postoperative support at local hospitals.
The goal is to develop the APP into a trusted clinical partner with specialized expertise in Men's Health and Urology, rather than assigning routine, low-complexity visits with limited growth potential.
Chesapeake Urology is seeking an APP who is excited to invest in a long-term career in Men's Health and Urology and who can thrive in a highly collaborative environment.

Market context
In Maryland, advanced practice provider roles in urology are typically in demand where outpatient specialty care needs steady coverage and continuity. These positions are competitive because employers often prefer NP-C or PA-C candidates with urology experience, while still considering new graduates who can show strong clinical readiness. Review the AI-summarized requirements and benefits on this page to save time, then confirm your certification, highlight any procedural or specialty exposure, and tailor your application to outpatient urology care.
