The Registered Nurse in the CVOR is responsible for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating nursing care for patients in the cardiovascular and cardiothoracic perioperative environment, including conscious or unconscious states. This involves identifying patient needs, developing individualized care plans, coordinating interventions, and evaluating outcomes, while being legally accountable for patient care.
Required Qualifications
Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
Require one of the following: minimum of six (6) months previous Operating Room (OR) experience, or graduation from an OR post graduate course or approved Operating Room nurse internship program.
Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
