The Emergency Veterinary Assistant will serve as the first point of contact, triaging incoming patients, providing steady support, and assisting with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics like bloodwork and imaging. Responsibilities also include supporting credentialed staff during anesthesia/sedation cases, managing IV fluids, and learning advanced skills like CPR and ultrasound through guided training.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program, and ideally have 1+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant, especially in emergency or specialty settings. Essential requirements include basic computer skills, excellent communication, physical stamina for prolonged standing and lifting up to 25 kg, and availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
